At Colorado Realty and Property Management, Inc. education is one of the most important values we hold.
Fair Housing Laws
Fair Housing laws are undeniably important when it comes to practicing law-abiding property management. The federal Fair Housing Act of 1968 and the federal Fair Housing Act Amendments Act of 1988, “prohibit discrimination on the basis of the following criteria (called “protected categories”): race or color; religion; national origin; familial status or age—includes families with children under the age of 18 and pregnant women; disability or handicap, or sex”.
Because these laws are frequently being changed and/or updated, we make sure to stay up to date with the most current regulations and laws. By staying up to date with what is the law, we ensure that we are conducting the best property management practices and we can better avoid any possible legal troubles that could arise.
Staff Training
Every employee we hire is trained through official fair housing training, either by attending an in-person event or by the online self-paced version. This happens as soon as a new employee is brought on to our team, so that the new employee can catch up with what the rest of the team’s knowledge. Additionally, we educate employees on a yearly basis so that, as a team, we are educated with the most up to date information, which allows for correct and cohesive property management.
