Unit owners in common interest communities can obtain a proxy from another unit owner in the community to vote at meetings of the unit owners’ association on behalf of the other unit owner.
Unit owners living in a common interest community (community) may grant another unit owner a proxy to vote at a unit owners’ association (association) meeting on behalf of the first unit owner. According to current law, the proxy terminates after 11 months unless the proxy itself specifies a different date. There is a maximum duration of 11 months for a proxy under the act.
